Curiosity and Money: The Power of Asking “What If?”

When I was little, curiosity was part of everyday life. My parents came from two very different worlds — my dad grew up poor, my mom from a wealthy family. She was only sixteen when she got pregnant, and he was twenty, without even a roof over his head. Together, they built everything from scratch.

We didn’t go to private schools or fancy programs — they believed in living a normal life, learning through experience, and trying many small things instead of just one big dream. My dad was a hard worker, the kind who made sure we always had what we needed. My mom taught me not to fear questions.

“Try things,” they’d say. “If you fail, you lose a little money and time — but you gain knowledge you didn’t have before. And if you don’t try, you’ll never know.”

That lesson shaped everything that came after — in life, in work, and even in how I see money. Curiosity wasn’t a luxury for us. It was a way to grow. 🌿☕️

Years later, I realized that same curiosity — the one that made me experiment in the garden or in life — also shaped the way I think about money.

We’re often told to play it safe: work hard, save what you can, avoid risk. But curiosity doesn’t accept “safe” as the only answer. It asks, “What if I could make this money grow instead of letting it sleep in the bank?”

Curiosity doesn’t make you reckless — it makes you aware. It pushes you to read, to learn, to compare, to understand the numbers behind your dreams.

It’s curiosity that leads someone to discover the power of compound interest. Curiosity that makes another person open their first investment account. And curiosity that gives you the courage to ask questions your parents might never have dared to ask about finances, entrepreneurship, or independence.

Every time I made a financial leap — buying a house, starting a business, or trying a new investment — it began with curiosity.

And yes, sometimes curiosity brings uncertainty. But without it, life and money both stop growing.

So if you’ve ever wondered, “What if I tried something different?” — lean into it. Because that question might be the seed of your financial freedom. 🌿☕️💰
