The lack of responsibility for maintenance, surprise repairs, and the costs associated with them make renting an appealing option for those seeking less financial and physical burden.

Homeownership today carries a caveat many forget: the bank truly owns your home until the mortgage is fully paid. This stark reality shifts the perception of ownership and begs the question of whether we are truly owners or just long-term borrowers.

This approach not only promises a potential increase in property value but also offers opportunities to generate income through rentals or home exchanges. Coupled with renting an apartment close to work, this strategy balances financial freedom with practical living arrangements.

For those leaning towards buying, consider opting for a house that costs half of your prequalified amount from the bank. This not only provides a financial cushion in times of need but also allows for strategies to pay off the mortgage faster, such as making weekly payments, rounding up payments, and making lump sum payments on the mortgage anniversary.
